My Mobile Home...By Popular Demand

OK, I know that we've lived here since June, and nobody has gotten any pictures of the inside of the mobile home since I moved in. I know that I've been promising people that I'd post some any day now for months. I was putting it off till I had everything unpacked, then I wanted everything clean... Well, at long last I've done it -- here they are! Click on any of them to enlarge the photo.

First, I'll post the floorplan so you can imagine where the rooms are. The top of this picture conveniently faces North.

Starting at the front of the house, on the north side, there's my office and sewing room where I also store all my costumes

On the south side, there's the baby's room which also has a giant bookcase full of manga.

In the middle of the house is the kitchen with a little nook for the laundry.

Across from the kitchen is the guest bathroom where the fish lives.

Then we have the living room with the couch, front door, and gigantic bookcase/entertainment center.

On the other side of this big open room is the dining area.

In the back of the house is the master bedroom and bath.

Woohoo! It looks great. (I see the wedding ducks!)

I am cracking up that the fish lives in the guest bathroom. Is he a guest?

Thanks. It's fun to see how the baby's room has turned out: I like the cubes, just like in your room. Speaking of your cubes, they look much emptier than before. Did you get rid of stuff or just pack it away for pregnancy?

Thanks for the tour. We really enjoyed seeing your pictures. You have a Lovely home.

What kind of plant is that in the bathroom? It goes well with the fish. :-)

Karen! Lovely home. It was a wonderful tour. Do you know what really caught my eye? The oriental plant in your bathroom. It's perfect in here. Everything is so full of light and wonder. You've done a super job. Come down soon, Elizabeth Anne! We are ready for you!

Thanks for letting us have a view of your house with all your stuff in it. It really helped to have the "road map" too! It looks like you are very comfortable there.

Looking beautiful, Karen! You and the house.

Helena: Umm...I said that about the fish because I couldn't think of anything else to say about a bathroom...and he does live there, so I guess he's a guest.

Mom: One thing that makes the shelves look less cluttered is that I moved all the stuffed animals to the baby's room. I'm also using the bottom row of shelves, which I wasn't before, and I moved the pants that don't fit into the closet.

Kathey: The plant is called "Lucky Bamboo." it isn't really bamboo, but it kind of looks like it. Most Asian-run stores or restaurants have some sort of fancy display with a bunch of small plants tied together. Around here it's very common to find them in grocery stores or Target. I got mine at the dollar store.

Hi Karen,

Is the "lucky bamboo" easy to grow? Unfortunately we're really good at
killing house plants here.

VERY easy to grow. The important things are to keep it wet (it grows in water --no dirt needed) and make sure it doesn't get too much sunlight. They grow better in the bathroom or on a bookshelf than they do on the windowsill.
